Ralph McGehee, "The C.I.A.: Deadly Deceits"

Please listen to the entire audio tape of McGehee's 1985 talk. In it he summarizes much of his autobiographical account of his years in the C.I.A., entitled Deadly Deceits.

Go to our FTP server and download the 8 .RM files to your own computer. That way, you don't have to worry about the Internet being slow and creating interruptions in the flow of the talk. Or you can stream it directly off the Internet, using the links below.

I've broken the whole cassette up into eight sections. Download all 8 of them. They are small!

After you have listened to the entire tape, and made careful notes on it, please write an essay of 350 words or a bit more outlining what McGehee concluded about the Vietnam War: its causes; why the United States was involved in it; what the Vietnam War taught him about U.S. foreign policy; about anti-communism.

Email this to me and to your group.
