Dear Students:

In less than two days, on Tuesday, March 24, we will begin our online classes.

Please consult your HW page right away.

You will see that WE WILL HAVE NO CLASSES DURING THE WEEK OF MARCH 30 – APRIL 3.

I think it is best to give us all an extra week – the week after next week – to get completely ready

That means that we will have NO CLASSES ON TUESDAY, MARCH 31 OR THURSDAY, APRIL 2.

Group Discussions are ready to go! They are on our Canvas space for this coming week, Tuesday, March 24, and Thursday, March 26.

You go to our course space on Canvas, then to “Discussions” – a link on the left-hand margin.

Please read the Assignment for that class day. I have made it very simple – discuss the HW passages assigned for that day.

•    In some cases, I have added additional passages for you to discuss, after you have discussed the passages assigned for HW.

This is what we have been doing in our face-to-face classes. Please discuss these as well.

•    Please do not post more than 2 sentences at a time. Long posts are very hard to follow!

I have created a group discussion space for each group in our class. The groups are named “Group 1”, “Group 2”, and so on. You are in the same group that you have been in since the second week of the class – your usual group.

I have set the Group Discussions to begin at the beginning of our class, and to end at the end of our class.

Therefore, you must have your in-class discussions during that 75-minute class period.

Beginning with the week of Tuesday, April 7, we will also have all-class A/V discussions during the second part of the class, as we are used to doing.

During this coming week, I will be taking classes to learn how we can do this.

Please also remember to check our Announcements page:

Announcements Concerning
Moving Classes Online
March 2020 - End of Spring Semester

The link to this page is:

https://msuweb.montclair.edu/~furrg/online_classes_spring_2020.html

It inserted as a link in the table on our Home Page.

I have also put a colorful table on our Homework Page, to remind you to check this Announcements page a couple of times a week.

To repeat: I will ALWAYS send you all announcements by email first, and post them on this page afterwards. So if you check your email, you will not miss anything.

We shall MEET IN YOUR GROUPS ON CANVAS DISCUSSIONS, beginning on Tuesday!
