This covers Arthur's rise, battles, coronation, marriage, and then his "imperialism", conquests of much of Europe.
Presumably, this is what made Geoffrey's HKB popular among the English. It may also account for the equivocal portrayal of Arthur and his knights in French literature.
The "French Arthur" then is read and imitated all over Europe, including in England where it returns with a vengeance, as we will see.
