The Canterbury Tales - Texts

There are a number of Web sources for texts of Chaucer's CT.

The one I have used for several years, and still my favorite, is Dan Kline's page at the University of Alaska at Anchorage. Please try this first.

NOTE: The page is back on line, with a slightly different URL -- only the server was changed. Please use this text! (03 Oct 02)

Another one, different in layout but also excellent and with interlinear translations, is The Geoffrey Chaucer Page at Harvard.

A very good text, with line numbers, is at the University of Michigan. It's part of the Corpus of Middle English Prose and Verse.

Another text -- the source, I think, for some of the others, including Kline's and the UMich page, is here, at the Electronic Text Center of the University of Virginia.
