There are essentially two parts to it. In the first Robertson outlines just what a Franklin was, and what associations Chaucer's audience might be expected to have had about the Franklin given this, and given what Chaucer tells us about him. Read this part carefully.
The second part of the article discusses the Franklin's Tale itself. Please read it carefully.
