For your writing assignment, 350 - 400 words in length (quotations don't count), answer the following questions:

• What are the seven major reasons King gives for his decision to speak out about the Vietnam War?
  • King has a lot to say about this. Your answer will require a close, careful, detailed reading of the speech.
• What advice does he suggest he and other clergy [priest, ministers, etc.] should give young men who are planning to serve in the military?
  • Do you agree that this is appropriate? Explain your view.
• King uses the term "a true revolution of values."
  • What does he mean by this?
  • What does this part of his discussion indicate about how he sees individual responsibility, political life, and social change?
