The first assignment was to find passages that reflected Capt. Amasa Delano's values and, in general, his ideology -- how he thinks -- that led him to so misunderstand what was really happening on the San Dominick.
This second assignment is to find passages that show how the slaves, in revolt, planned their revolt and how to deceive others about it. That is, to find precisely those indications of the slaves' bravery, cleverness, and dedication to freedom at any cost which Delano implicitly thinks are so foreign to "blacks."
Pick six passsages. Identify them by page number and column in the PDF version, so we can all find them (you do NOT have to print the PDF version out, if you have already printed out the HTML version. But download and open the PDF version, and locate your passages in it, so we can all refer to them).
Discuss them in an essay of 300 words. Do not count, as part of these 300 words, the quotations you choose to type out in your assignment, but count only your own words.

Bring this assignment of yours and the text of Benito Cereno to class with you. Bring your first assignment -- the 4 sentences, from different parts of the story -- to class with you as well.
