Themes in London's The Iron Heel

London's The Iron Heel attempts to outline a socialist, or Marxist, analysis of modern capitalist society -- as London understood it (it's "London's understanding" that makes up a great part of the interesting aspect of the novel. Many socialists, and even more later Marxists, had serious disagreements with his analysis).

The Iron Heel picks many aspects of society and exposes their relationship with capitalist exploitation.

Pick ONE of the following themes. Find, identify, and analyse THREE passages in the novel in which this theme is dealt with. Explain London's interpretation of the relationship of this theme to the class struggle and capitalist exploitation.
