Assignment on Labor's Untold Story, Chs. 10 - 11

     Chapters 10 and 11 give the background of the CIO victories in
the late 1930s, and the beginnings of the Cold War against labor in
the post-war 1940s.

     Since this is the essential background for the history of the
suppression of the film Salt of the Earth which we are watching
this week, it's important that you all read them and write about them.

     Please read these chapters, and then write a 300 word essay on
the use of anti-communism in the attack against the CIO.

     We'll read the Rosenfelt essay on Salt of the Earth for
our next class.
