Kenya and the United States: Class Conflicts in Anti-Imperialist

     Please read 

Gouverneur Morris' letter to Thomas Penn of 1774. This is a
carefully annotated edition, with lots of notes to help you with the
historical and other references.

     Now please reread the sections in N'gugi's Trial of Dedan
Kimathi in which the class conflicts -- conflicts of interest
along class lines are outlined. Find two or three such passages.

     Please write 300 words or so about the similarities between the
two situations - the 13 colonies in 1774, Kenya in 1956 (the time the
play is set in), with respect to conflicts of interest between the
elite and the masses, and the issues of what kind of society would
emerge.
