- Developing a network operating system (NetOS) for large transport networks based on the concepts of software-defined networking using ONOS
- Developing the integration of NetOS functionalities that will enable efficient network resource management in near-real time. Specifically, the work will involve implementation of the Network Resource Manager (NRM) and Netgraph modules into NetUNIX(NetOS), the network OS being developed at Bell Labs.
- Developed an Element Management System for controlling the network elements which also supports multi-vendor, multi-technology Network Element Protocols.
- Enabled TeraBit transponder support for NetOS.
