IRC Logs

Here are the steps one has to follow when logging mIRC sessions:

1.  Put a floppy in drive a:/

2.  Pull down the file menu and select "options."

3.  Find the tab marked "Logging" and click it.  This brings up a screen that shows the directory for logs and buffer saves.

4.  Click on the check box labeled "Automatically Log Channels."  This turns on logging.

5.  Click on the the "?" at the end of the text box that shows where the log files are located.  This will give you an opportunity to change where the log files will be kept.  You want to use a:/

6.  The window that pops up is a standard directory window for windows.  At the bottom is a text box labeled "Drives."  It probably has "h:" in it.  Click on the little down arrow at the end, to bring up the drop down menu, scroll this up until you can see "a:/" and click on "a:/".

7.  The pop-up window goes away and now, the Directory for Logs text box should show a:/  Click on "OK" at the bottom of this "options" window.   That's it.

8.  Now start mIRC.  When you join a room (for example, Room #1, to talk), mIRC will start a log file that records everything everyone says in that channel.  It will have the same name as the channel, and it will be on a:/

It is a simple text file which you can read   with Notepad or any wordprocessor.
