Elaine Hitchcock, Ph.D, CCC-SLP
Principal Investigator

Elaine Hitchcock is an associate professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Montclair State University. Dr. Hitchcock is a certified speech-language pathologist with over 20 years of clinical experience working with multiple clinical populations including many individuals with speech and voice disorders. She has an active research agenda focusing on developmental aspects of phonology as well as visual biofeedback techniques for diagnosis and treatment of speech and voice disorders.

Robbie Lazarus, MA, CCC-SLP
Clinical Supervisor

Robbie is a certified speech-language pathologist who has previously worked as a school-based SLP and owns a private practice providing services for children with a variety of speech and language disorders. She works as a research supervisor in the Clinical Biofeedback Laboratory, providing direct supervision and project management for visual biofeedback intervention studies.

Michelle Swartz, MA, CCC-SLP
2nd year Doctoral Student

Michelle is a certified speech-language pathologist and current doctoral student in Communication Sciences and Disorders department at Montclair State University. She previously received an MA in Speech-Language Pathology from MSU in 2014 and an MS in Biomedical Science from Barry University in 2009. Her research interests include visual biofeedback for the treatment of motor speech disorders.

Jen Caceres
1st year SLP Graduate Assistant

Jen is currently a student and research assistant in the Speech-Language Pathology graduate program at MSU. She previously attended The College of New Jersey, where she received her B.S. degree in Psychology with a minor in Communication Disorders, and an M.A.T. in Special Education. She also worked as a research assistant in the Center for Sensory and Complex Disabilities (CSCD) at TCNJ.

Carly Truglio
1st year SLP Graduate Assistant

Carly is currently a student and research assistant in the Speech-Language Pathology graduate program at Montclair State University. She previously attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she received her B.S. degree in Communication Disorders with a minor in education and psychology.

Melissa Lopez
Lab Consultant and Former SLP Graduate Assistant

Melissa is graduating from the Speech Language Pathology graduate program at Montclair State University in January 2018. She received her BA in Linguistics from Brown University and previously worked as a research assistant in the NLP & Speech Research group at the Educational Testing Service.

Lauren Dioguardi
Former SLP Graduate Assistant

Lauren graduated from the Speech Language Pathology graduate program at Montclair State University in January 2017. She previously attended The College of New Jersey, where she received B.A. degrees in Psychology and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and an M.A. degree in Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing/Elementary Education K-6.
