Often times non-native English speakers will transfer from their native language and generalize in the translation of certain words. For example, in Spanish, you would think the word "noche" means "night". However, context is extremely important when determining this. The word "noche" also means "evening" thus when used in context with a greeting, you may want to say "Good evening" and not "Good night". Saying good night is like saying "good bye". This can lead to possible semantic mix-ups when decoding or even worse-- an embarrassing situation. Here are the two scenarios...
